Geographical Features
Quang
Nam Province is located in Central Viet Nam, at a
latitude of 140 5710 -160 0350 North and a
longitude of 1070 12 40 - 1080 44 20 East, 860km
from Hanoi to the South and 865 km from Ho Chi Minh to
the North. It borders with Da Nang city to the North,
with Quang Ngai province to the South, with the East sea
to the East and with Kon Tum province and Laos PDR to
the West.
Quang Nam is a favorable location for socio-economic
development, situated in the middle of southeast Asia
with radial of 3,216km covering the southern China, Hong
Kong, Taipei to the north, Singapore, Malaysia to the
south, the Philippines, Bone-Brunei to the East,
Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia to the west.

northeast winds flow from October to March (average

Administrative Organization: Quang Nam province owns
16 districts and 2 cities:
Mountainous districts (9 districts): Tay Giang, Dong
Giang, Nam Giang, Bac Tra My, Nam Tra My, Tien Phuoc,
Hiep Duc, Nong Son and Phuoc Son
Plain districts (7 districts): Dien Ban, Dai Loc, Duy
Xuyen, Thang Binh, Que Son, Phu Ninh and Nui Thanh
City: Tam Ky and Hoi An
Population: about 1.5 million people, 18% in urban
areas. 51% at working age. Average population density in
plain districts is 876 people per km2.
