Traditional Bai Choi singing in Hoi An is a traditional folk form of singing and performance brimming with Quang region’s folk music culture which is still preserved as a very lively activity in this warm-hearted land. This type of music can be condidered as a great form of theatre music that belongs to folk music with its own musicological values. Bai Choi singing is a kind of popular recreational activity which contains lofty human values, functions as a community link, creates sympathetic relationships, especially features profound educational significance. Today, in the open-door time of economic integration and cultural exchange, Bai Choi singing also has as its mission to introduce the country’s traditional values to friends and international visitors, bringing them a better insight into distinctive beautiful features of the culture, people and country of Viet Nam.
